this is a story that was written by me. be sure to remember that this has no truth to it at all. it's just a fan fiction that i decided to write.
Fox put some more wood in the fireplace and sat next to where Kay was, on the couch. Kay smiled as she moved over so he could have more room. She kissed him deeply.
"Where's Maria and Endora?" Fox asked.
"In the kitchen, Tabitha's taking care of them." Kay said.
"I can't believe I hated you in my childhood." Fox said.
"I can't believe you hated me either." Kay said, teasing.
"You hated me too, you know." Fox said. "Remember during the tsunami?" Kay nodded.
"Who could forget?" Kay said. "We hated eachother more than ever."
"I saved you a lot of times, though." Fox said.
"I know," Kay said. "That's why you're my hero." They starred at eachother. They always loved starring at eachother. Not doing anything else, just looking in eachother's eyes. "I was always scared you would let me go when I almost fell in the water." she sighed.
"How could I ever let you go?" Fox asked. Kay looked down and then looked up at Fox.
"I don't know." she said, biting her lip. "But, you didn't let go." Kay said, kissing him. "You never did."
"I'll always love you, Kay." Fox said. Kay blushed a little.
"I'll always love you too." Kay said. "Only you." Fox kissed her on the head. Kay checked her watch to see that it was midnight. "I've got to put Maria to bed!" Kay said. She got up, Fox pulled her hand back down so she fell back on the couch. She looked confused. Fox kissed her deeply. Kay smiled as she held his hand when she got up. She let go as she went to get Maria, and Fox went to put more fire in the fireplace.
Kay went into the kitchen to see Tabitha with Endora and Maria.
"I'm going to take Maria to bed now." Kay said. "Good night, Tabitha. Good night, Endora." she picked Maria up and left the room.
"Good night, Kay." Tabitha said. "I'm guessing she's going to spend the night with Fox." Tabitha said to Endora. "I'm not too fond of their love. We'll see if it lasts." Tabitha chuckled.
Kay picked Maria up and put her in her crib. She smiled as she saw her daughter close her eyes. She stayed still, watching her. Fox lightly tapped on the door as he walked in. Kay turned around and smiled. Fox went up to her and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her.
"Is Maria sleeping?" Fox asked. Kay nodded. "Maybe we can.." Kay laughed and rolled her eyes. The doorbell rung. Kay checked her watch.
"What would someone be doing coming here at midnight?" Kay asked.
"I don't know." Fox said. The doorbell rung again. "I guess Tabitha's not getting it." Maria began to cry. "I'll take care of Maria, you can go get the door." Kay nodded as she kissed Fox on the cheek. She went up to the door and answered it. She couldn't believe who it was.
Kay was in shock to see who was at the door.
"Miguel." Kay said, forcing a laugh. She didn't know why she was acting this way. She was Miguel's best friend and she was disgusted to see him showing up at her doorstep. "What are you doing here?" She said, trying to make it sound as polite as possible.. which still came out sounding rude.
"I decided to come back to Harmony for a trip!" Miguel said, sounding happy. Kay breathed in and breathed out as deeply as possible. "So, what's new with you?"
"Remember Fox Crane?" Kay asked. Miguel thought for a moment and then nodded. "I'm in love with him." she said, smiling. She didn't care what Miguel thought. She was in love with someone who loved her back. She was done with her scheming ways.
"Oh," Miguel said, looking down. "That's g-good for y-you." he said.
"Is something wrong?" Kay asked. Fox came downstairs and placed his hands on Kay's shoulders, kissing her. Miguel's stomach turned upside down.
"Oh, Miguel!" Fox said, sounding slightly disappointed. Tabitha saw Miguel and was shocked as well.
"Oh, Miguel! Wow, I didn't see this coming!" Tabitha said, excitedly. "Come in, come in!"
"Oh, uh, really?" Kay asked.
"Yes, dear." Tabitha said. "Fox, would you lead Miguel into the kitchen?" Fox thought for a moment, bit his lip and nodded.
"What is Miguel doing here?!" Kay hissed at Tabitha. Tabitha shrugged and laughed.
"Wasn't this your dream, Kay, dear?" Tabitha asked. "For Miguel to come back for you?" Kay rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, that was before I met Fox." Kay said. "I love Fox more than I ever loved Miguel!"
"Do you mean that?" Tabitha asked.
"Yes!" Kay said. Kay did love Fox more than she ever loved Miguel. She wasn't lying. "You believe me, don't you?!"
"I don't know, dear." Tabitha said, walking into the kitchen. "So, Miguel, how are the searches going to find Charity?" Tabitha asked, pouring them all some tea.
"Not so good." Miguel said, sighing. "I'm going to hit the road again in a few days, I just dropped by!"
"Thank god." Fox and Kay said at the same time. They gasped.
"What?" Miguel looked confused.
"Thank god that he let you come and visit!" Kay said.
"Oh, right." Miguel said.
"Me and Fox are heading to bed." Kay said, holding Fox's hand.
"Can I see Maria?" Miguel said.
"Oh, yeah," Kay said. The three walked up to Maria's bedroom and Miguel looked over the crib. Maria woke up. Miguel picked her up and kissed her.
"She's so big now!" Miguel said. "I should've been here."
"But, you weren't." Kay said.
"Sorry, Kay." Miguel said. Kay muttered undered her breath. Maria started to cry. "What do I do?" Miguel asked, panicing.
"Here, I've got her." Fox said, picking her up.
"Daddy!" Maria said as Fox was holding her. Miguel looked down, looking upset.
"What's wrong, Miguel?" Fox asked.
"She called you Daddy, or am I mistaken?" Miguel asked.
"Yeah," Kay said. "He's been her father figure for awhile now." Miguel shrugged and nodded.
"I guess I deserve that pain." Miguel said. "I haven't been here for her at all." Kay and Fox nodded.
"Here, you can put Maria back to sleep." Fox said, handing Maria to Miguel. Kay and Fox held hands as they left the room. Miguel placed Maria back in her crib as she imediately closed her eyes. Miguel lightly rocked the crib so Maria could go to sleep. Miguel was ready to go to sleep, he went up to the room's lights and just before he shut them off, he asked himself something.
"Why did I have to leave in the first place?"
Miguel shut the door in Maria's room and went downstairs to ask Tabitha where he'd be sleeping.
"Can I sleep somewhere tonight?" Miguel asked.
"Yes, yes, of course, dear!" Tabitha said. "The guest bedroom."
"Where can I find it?" Miguel said.
"It's next to Fox and Kay's room." Tabitha said. Miguel coughed. "Is something wrong, dear?" she asked. Miguel shook his head and cleared his throat.
"The couch will be fine." Miguel said. Tabitha shrugged.
"Suit yourself." Tabitha went over to pick Endora up and she headed to bed. Miguel sat down on the couch and shut his eyes. He could still here the laughing from Fox and Kay's room.
"Why couldn't that be me?" Miguel asked himself.
The night past and Miguel was the first one to wake up. He made coffee for himself and poured it. Kay and Fox were in their pyjamas as they walked downstairs, laughing and kissing eachother.
"That was fun last night." Kay said, kissing him.
"We'll have to do that again." Fox said.
"Whenever you want." Kay said, kissing him again. They were starring at eachother and laughing the whole way to the kitchen. Fox turned to see Miguel.
"Oh, Miguel!" Fox said. "Sorry about that." he said, letting go of Kay.
"No problem." Miguel said. "It's just weird for me to see Kay with someone. I mean, I don't think she's ever been with someone." Miguel said. Kay shrugged.
"The others don't matter, just as long as I have Fox." Kay said.
"I'm going to check on Maria." Fox said, walking upstairs. Kay and Miguel were alone.
"Kay, I think I may stop looking for Charity." Miguel said. Kay sipped her coffee and looked confused.
"Why?" she asked.
"It's a waste of time." Miguel said.
"No," Kay said. "Love isn't a waste of time. If you love someone, you go for it. I hated Fox all my life until now." Kay said. "Look how happy I am because I followed my heart. You've got to do the same. Follow your heart for whoever it is." Kay went upstairs.
"Kay," Miguel said to himself. "If you want me to follow love, I'm going to have to stay here in Harmony."
Miguel thought about staying in Harmony.
"I've always loved Kay." Miguel said. "I just never knew it." Miguel wasn't sure wether he always loved Kay or always loved Charity. "I'll think about it later." he said. He walked upstairs and walked into his daughters room, seeing Kay, Fox and Maria huddled together like a happy little family. He shut the door and looked down, ashamed. "That could've been me."
"I love you, Kay." Fox said, kissing her. Maria giggled.
"I love you too, Fox." Kay said. Kay's eyes got watery.
"Do you have allergies?" Fox asked. Kay shook her head and sniffed.
"I'm just so happy." Kay said. "I never thought my life would be so perfect," she said. "I've got everything that I've ever wanted." Maria giggled.
"We'll never be apart." Fox said, kissing Kay. Kay shook her head.
"Never," she sniffed again, laughing. "You're my everything."
"You're my everything too." Fox said. "I'm never going to let you go."
Tabitha was starring into her beloved bowl, watching them.
"Oh, it's all the same!" Tabitha said. "All of those love lines." Tabitha covered her bowl up. "It'll never change or get interesting - oh, Miguel! Yes, this could get interesting!" Endora screamed angrily. "Yes, Endora, I know you want your half brother to be happy." Tabitha sighed. "Who knows if the happiness will last?"
"I'm going to take care of Maria." Fox said. "You can eat something." Kay laughed and rolled her eyes.
"That's okay." Kay said.
"No, I'll get something to eat later." Fox said. "Go ahead, I'll be fine." Kay walked outside to bump into Miguel.
"Oh, Miguel!" Kay said.
"I've been getting that a lot." Miguel said. Kay forced a laugh. "I need to talk to you."
"Uh, yeah, sure, what's up?" she asked, putting her hands on her hips.
"I may stay in Harmony." Miguel said. Kay stopped breathing.
"So much for things being perfect," Kay muttered under her breath. She was scared of falling in love with Miguel again, especially when she was with the man that she loved.
"What was that, Kay?" Miguel asked. Kay didn't speak, she wiped the sweat off of her forehead and looked down. "Kay?" Kay fell down to the ground, her eyes shut. "Kay?!" Miguel shouted. Fox entered the hallway to see Miguel standing next to Kay, who was laying on the ground.
"What happened?!" Fox shouted, handing Maria to Miguel.
"She fell down when I was telling her something!" Miguel said.
"What were you telling her?!" Fox shouted, angrily.
"It was nothing important." he lied.
"Call Dr. Russell, her number's by the phone in the living room!" Fox shouted. He bent down to Kay to hear her heartbeat, he heard it. "What did he tell you, Kay?" Fox asked himself. Miguel came back with Eve.
"I heard it was an emergency." Eve said.
"S-She collapsed," Miguel said. Eve checked her up.
"She fainted, looks like it was a bad one, too." Eve said.
"Why would she faint?" Fox asked.
"Normally faints occure from the heat, nervousness, or most often, when you're told something shocking." Eve said. "Well, that wasn't much of an emergency."
"Sorry I overreacted." Miguel said.
"No problem, Miguel." Eve said, grabbing her stuff. "Welcome back to Harmony." she said with a smile. Miguel nodded and smiled back.
"Thanks, Dr. Russell." he said. Kay's eyes fluttered open, she saw Fox above her. She kissed him, getting up.
"Are you okay?" Fox asked. Kay nodded, rubbing her head. "Stay here, I'll get you an ice pack." Kay nodded as she kissed him. She looked up to see Miguel.
"Why are you staying back in Harmony?" Kay asked, angrily.
"I-I don't want to talk about it." Miguel said. "We don't need to fall over again and -"
"I'm already on the ground, just tell me!" Kay said, her eyes tearing up.
"I think I may still love you." Miguel said. There was an awkward silence.
"It's too late, Miguel." Kay said. "I gave you several opportunities when you were with Charity. You didn't come back for me. It shows you never really loved me. I think you're coming back to me because you're desperate."
"I'm not." Miguel said.
"The reason I don't think you should stay here in Harmony is because I'm in love with someone else and you'll dread your time here -"
"I dread it looking for Charity as well." Miguel said.
"You know, about Charity, you said she was your only love." Kay said. "Go find her, Miguel. I'm your best friend. Trust me." Kay said. "If Fox went away for any reason, I wouldn't stop until I found him." Miguel bit his lip.
"You can come to Harmony any time to visit Maria," Kay said. "What's the point of staying here when you're going to dread seeing me with Fox?" Fox came back upstairs.
"Here you go, Kay." he handed her the ice pack as he kissed her on the head. "Is everything okay with Miguel?"
"Yeah, it's fine." Kay said.
"So, why did you faint?" Fox asked.
"It's a long story and -" Kay said.
"It's because I may want to stay in Harmony." Miguel interrupted.
Fox's eyes widened.
"I didn't see that coming.." Fox said. Kay stood up with her ice pack on her head and stood next to Fox. "What about Ch-Charity?" he asked.
"I don't know," Miguel said. "Maybe she's a waste of time."
"You were in love with her for so long, now you're going to throw all of that away just because you think she's a waste of time?" Fox asked.
"Y-You know what?" Kay asked. "L-Let's let M-Miguel have more time to th-think about his decision." Fox nodded. Kay and Fox held hands as they went into Maria's bedroom.
"Kay, if Miguel comes back to town, will you fall in love with him?" Fox asked. Kay looked down.
"I don't think so, but that's what I'm scared of." Kay said. "I love you so much and I can't imagine loving someone more than I love you, but in some weird way I think I may fall in love with him again." Kay pressed her ice pack against her head. "Why did I have to be such an idiot back then?"
"You weren't an idiot." Fox said. "Look at what happened." Kay looked confused. "You got the most beautiful daughter that you could ever get."
"Oh, that's right." Kay said, kissing Fox. "You always make me feel better. I don't know why I would fall in love with Miguel. Y-You know what? I won't. He doesn't deserve my love. He was with Charity the whole time and he never wanted me."
"He was insane not to want you," Fox said, kissing Kay. Miguel was overhearing their conversation.
"Except I always did want Kay," Miguel said. "I need to be with Kay again, but how?" Kay and Fox continued talking in Maria's bedroom.
"Here's a question," Kay said, pursing her lips. "If you had to pick, what would you pick? A life with me and Maria, or a life at work?" Fox laughed.
"There's no choice, Kay." Fox said. "I'd definately pick you and Maria. There was no one I loved more than you. Not Theresa, not Whitney.. it was always you." Kay smiled and kissed him.
"That's a good answer." she said.
"I know," Fox said, laughing. "Anyways, how's your head?"
"It's fine." Kay said. Kay froze and looked over her memories with Fox during the Tsunami, when they were fighting and he saved her so many times.
"What are you thinking about?" Fox asked.
"The Tsunami," Kay said. She remembered when she slipped on the deck. She remembered when the shark was in the water and she needed help to get out. She remembered when she fell through the floor. She remembered how all those times, he saved her. She remembered when they were so close to kissing when she fell on him, she remembered when they were so close to kissing when he held her from falling, she remembered when they made love on the roof.
"Remember when we faught there all the time?" Fox laughed. Kay nodded.
"We were so frustrated which eachother." Kay said, placing Maria back in her crib.
"Yeah, I remember." Fox said.
"I never thought we'd end up together." Kay said. "I love you, Fox." she meant what she said. She never loved Miguel the way that she loved Fox. With Miguel, she had nothing but rejection and schemes. Fox loved her back, and that was the feeling that she loved.
"I love you too," Fox said. They kissed. Maria closed her eyes. Kay and Fox stepped out of the room and went into their bedroom. They were exhausted from the night before, so they went to sleep.
"I will get you back, Kay." Miguel said. "I don't think Fox means anything to you."
The next morning, Kay and Fox woke up at the same time.
"Hey," Kay said, kissing Fox. Fox smiled.
"I love seeing your beautiful face in the morning." Fox said. Kay smiled.
"Me too." she said. Maria started to cry. "Oh, I better get that." Fox nodded. Kay went out of the room and into Maria's bedroom, she picked up her daughter. Miguel walked into the room.
"Do you have her?" Miguel asked.
"You have eyes, don't you?" Kay said. She laughed. Kay put Maria back in her crib. "I wonder why she was crying." Miguel nodded.
"Y-Yeah, me too." he said. He was acting all nervous around Kay.
"What I'm about to do now is bound to break Fox and Kay apart." Miguel muttered under his breath.
"What'd you say?" Kay asked.
"Nothing." Miguel said.
"Isn't she beautiful?" Kay asked.
"Y-Yeah, you a-are." Miguel cholked out.
"Huh?" Kay asked.
"Nothing." Miguel said.
"You've been acting really strange lately." Kay said. "By lately, I mean today." Miguel shrugged. Kay rolled her eyes and laughed. "If you say so." Miguel heard Fox leave his bedroom. Miguel quickly went near Kay and began kissing her. Kay tried to pull away, which she did. "Miguel, what are you doing?!"
"Doing what you've been waiting for." he said, kissing her. Kay tried to push away again. Unfortunately, Fox walked in on them. Once Kay managed to pull away, she looked at Fox and the horror on his face.
"What are you doing?" Fox asked.
"Fox, let me explain." Kay said.
"N-No." he said. "I've seen what happened." Kay's eyes got watery as he left the room.
"What was that for?!" Kay shouted.
"To make you realize you love me." Miguel said.
"Miguel, you want to know what loving you brought me?" Kay asked. "It brought me pain. You never loved me back."
"I did. More than Charity." Miguel said.
"I gave you so many opportunities and you never took them, which shows you loved Charity more than you loved me." Kay said. "Do you think that me and Fox are going to split up?" Kay asked. Miguel stayed still. Kay shook her head. "Think again." She wiped her eyes and raced downstairs.
"T-Tabitha, where's Fox?!" Kay shouted.
"Keep your volume down, dear!" Tabitha said. "I saw him race for the door." Kay ran outside in her pyjamas to find him.
"Fox!" she shouted. She looked everywhere near the neighborhood when she found him sitting by a tree, looking down. She sat next to him. "Fox, don't make this be like in the movies. Don't walk away." Fox said nothing. "Miguel loves me." Fox didn't respond. "So, he kissed me like that to make you break up with me." Kay said. "So, is Miguel's scheme going to work or not?" Before Kay waited for a responce, she ran down the street crying. Slime was covered by the sidewalk and Fox saw that. Kay kept running, not noticing it. Fox ran ahead of her to catch her when she fell. "Thanks again." Kay said, remembering when the same thing ocurred at the Tsunami.
"I'm not letting Miguel have you, Kay." Fox kissed Kay. Kay sniffed and wiped away the tears. She smiled.
"I love you, Fox." Kay said.
"I love you too." Fox said. They kissed. They held hands the whole way back to Tabitha's house. They went upstairs, laughing and holding hands, just like they did before.
"I need to talk to Kay." Miguel interrupted, seeing they were together.
"Go ahead." Fox said, kissing Kay. He went into Maria's bedroom.
"You're together again?" Miguel was shocked.
"Miguel, you need to realize this." Kay said. "I'm never going to leave Fox, no matter what you do." Miguel sighed. "You need to go looking for Charity again. It seems to me you really loved her." Miguel shrugged. "You've been looking for her for years which is a waste of your life, I think." Miguel nodded. "Why are you going to waste your life for years, and then not accomplish what you wanted to do?" Miguel looked down. "You're just desperate, I think. That's why you're here for me." Kay said. "You can visit Maria whenever you want, but focus on seeing Charity. I've been with Maria and I've been doing a good job. If you want to help, I'll always accept it. I have Fox, though. I don't need any help."
"You're right, Kay." Miguel said. "I think I'm going to pack and leave now." Kay nodded and hugged him. Kay went into Maria's bedroom.
"Hey," Fox said, kissing her. "What was that about?"
"I told him some reality," Kay said. Fox looked confused. "It's a long story, but I got Miguel to realize that he didn't need to stay in Harmony. I told him to go after Charity because I think they love eachother. I told him he can visit Maria, but that won't be needed because I have you." A few hours passed.
"Kay! Fox! Maria! Tabitha! Endora!" Miguel shouted from downstairs. They all came, of course, Kay was picking Maria up and Tabitha was picking Endora up.
"I'll be leaving now, I'll be back soon." Miguel said.
"We look forward to it." Fox said, he meant it. He knew that Miguel wasn't going to attempt to do anything with Kay now, he didn't care wether he came back or not. He gave everyone a quick hug.
"Goodbye, dear!" Tabitha said.
"Bye, Miguel!" Kay said.
"Bye, everyone!" Miguel said. With that, Miguel was out the door.
"That was a very interesting few days." Kay said. Fox nodded. He went by the fireplace and lit a fire. Kay helped Fox put the firewood in the fireplace.
"I love you." Fox said. Kay smiled and kissed him, she put some more firewood in the fireplace before responding.
"I will always love you." Kay said.
